Alfasi Property obtained a permit for the site, comprising of two heritage buildings were masterplanned to develop a hotel scheme and residential scheme. Both designs include the provision of a new tower to be built above the heritage buildings with a discrete new structure to interface with the heritage buildings to support the tower. The site is located on Clarence and Kent Streets between King and Market Streets and has a height limit of 60m. The project design and successful permit demonstrate how adaptive reuse of disused heritage buildings can achieve a sustainable and appropriate outcome.
